The Story

We reside in Barton, WI.   We are  very proud of our small community, hence the homage paid by our name . Our goal is to bring the big city coffee quality and passion into our smaller rural areas.

Milwaukee has a booming coffee culture that produces some of the best coffees out there.   You don’t have to travel very far north until you start to lose that local feel.   Michele noticed the void  years ago and, in 2016, I finally understood where she was coming from. Barton Brew Coffee Roasters was born.  We have spent endless hours in our roasting lab since then; learning our equipment, studying roasting methods, and perfecting our profiles.  We even took a trip to the only place you can grow coffee in the USA, Hawaii!  We spent a lot of time at coffee plantations, touring the farms and facilities…..We had a little time to take in some of the wonderful sights Kauai had to offer.  The above photo was taken at one of the viewing points of the Waimea Canyon State Park.

There is something about knowing the origin of the beans, where they are roasted, who the roast master is, and the personal pride that is roasted into each and every bean.  These are the things that shape that cup of coffee you enjoy each day.

I look forward to sharing our passion with you.

Chris

What is Nitro Brew?

Nitro brew coffee is a cold Brew Coffee charged with nitrogen to give it a rich, creamy head, similar to stout beers. Though many lighter beers are infused with carbon dioxide, darker stouts are occasionally infused with nitrogen, extracting sweet flavors and a smooth finish from the beer. This is a direct effect of nitrogen bubbles being smaller in size than those of carbon dioxide, making it harder for the nitrogen in either beer or coffee to dissolve in the water and resulting in a beverage with a thicker “mouthfeel.” The nitrogen effect also cuts the acidity that is tied to traditional cold brew, making it easier on the stomach.[1]
